Day Seventeen: Ticket troubles and Bangladesh

Day Seventeen February 7th, 2009

James and I wake just in time to ready our things and jump off the train at the Delhi train station. At the airport we ran into some troubles due to the travel agent that "purchased" my tickets. It turns out that she had not booked the tickets so the airline did not have any records for me. The lovely and patient women at the ticket counter was able to pull some strings and find me a seat on this full flight to Dhaka. Crisis averted we wait impatiently in the airport for the flight to take off.

We are met at the airport by Zubair and taken to his parents home in the heart of Dhaka. What surprised me most was the differences I saw between Delhi and Dhaka. Both are large, poverty stricken cities and capitals or their respective countries. However, Dhaka was relatively clean and quite. The infrastructure immediately appeared to be more built up and in better shape than India's capital. One reason we can attribute the differences is Dhaka's lack of cows on the streets. This being a Muslim nation, there is no need to let the big stinky beasts roam the streets. The Muslims would rather eat them, which we certainly did in Bangladesh.

I spent the rest of the night resting and trying to keep from leaking.
